For more than 20 years, Plantation Rum Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel has explored the world of rum and its various terroirs in search of traditional production methods. For this one-time limited edition, he travelled across the globe to Venezuela, where he handpicked just 22 casks from Destillería Sofa, the first distillery in Venzuela with century-old expertise in rum-making.

In Plantation Rum's signature double-ageing technique, this unique expression aged for 8 years in Venezuela, then shipped by sea to the southwest of France, where it will mature for another 4 years in French oak Ferrand casks.

Bordering the Caribbean Sea, Venezuela has e long heritage of producing rich and refined rums, traditionally aged in oak casks. This vintage 2010 is an elegant expression of its terroir with deilcate notes of candied fruits and spices.
